The Law Offices of Evan Samuelson: Firm Philosophy

There are two sides to being a divorce attorney. When people think of attorneys, they mostly think of the first side, which is the advocate. The advocate is the part of being an attorney wherein the attorney argues your position (fights for you) in court.

However, the second side is at least as important: the counselor or adviser. Attorneys should always be advisers to their clients. I think it is this second function that is crucial to a successful attorney-client relationship and maximizes the possibility of a favorable outcome to your case whether it's by settlement or by litigating in court.

Advising my family law clients is incredibly important to me and I try to keep them as informed as possible. I don't make the decisions for my clients, nor should any other Roseville family law attorney. Rather, I give them as much information as possible so they can make the best decisions for their future. If my clients choose to go to court to litigate, I will make sure they do so with as much information, foreknowledge, and understanding of the law as I can give them.
